HR Certification Scholarship Program

The Program

The Michiana Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management has established a scholarship programs to help finance higher education in memory of Allison Fox, Esq. dedicated BOD for Michiana SHRM Chapter.  As with all our scholarships they are given without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, disability, national origin or any other protected group.


The Alison Fox scholarship is designed for active members of Michiana SHRM to help cover the cost of certification.  This scholarship will apply for those wanting to be newly certified or professionals who are recertifying.  Members will be able to apply the scholarship to purchasing books, attending Michiana SHRM certification study group, IUSB certification class, and the examination fees.

Scholarship Awards

Scholarship recipient(s) will receive a nominal amount to cover certification cost request not to exceed a $1,000 scholarship.  Scholarship(s) are awarded annually.


Applicants are solely responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information. All information submitted is confidential and will be reviewed only by the Michiana Chapter of SHRM Scholarship Committee and/or Executive Board.  Please submit application no later than May 4, 2018 (must be post marked by this date)

Recipient Selection

The scholarship recipients are selected based on demonstrated leadership, participation in community activities, work experience, statement of educational and career goals.  Those applying for the Alison Fox scholarship will also have consideration for their involvement in their SHRM chapter and/or their demonstrated commitment to the HR profession.

Scholarships awarded on the Michiana Chapter of SHRM selection procedures and available funds. Selection of recipients will be made by the Michiana Chapter of SHRM Scholarship Committee. All applicants will be notified of their status in late April.

Payment of Awards

The scholarship recipient(s) will be selected at the end of April and presented at the May.  The recipients will be reimbursed awarded amount upon proof of certification.


Scholarship recipients must enroll in their certification program no later than Fall of the year in which their awards are given.

Revision Policy

The general conditions and procedures under which scholarships are made are subject to periodic review by the Michiana Chapter of SHRM, including termination of the program.

Student Scholarship Programs

The Michiana Society for Human Resource Management Chapter has established two (2) scholarship programs to help finance higher education for students who are either student chapter members or who are sons or daughters of current Michiana Chapter members.  

Sons and Daughters Scholarship:

This scholarship is available to sons and daughters of current Michiana Chapter members. Applicants must either be a senior in high school or attending college with a GPA of 3.0 or better. 

Student Chapter Scholarship:

This scholarship is available to current student chapter members who are attending college with a GPA of 3.0 or better and pursuing a degree in Human Resource Management or related field. High school seniors are also eligible to apply for this scholarship if he/she intends to pursue a Human Resource Management degree or related field. 

How To Apply

Scholarships will be awarded to one individual in each scholarship category in the amount of $1,000 each. To apply for these scholarships, please submit your application. The deadline to submit an application is May 4, 2018.
